Training to make your puppy an enjoyable member of the Family

If you’ve never had a puppy before, or if it’s just been a while, Puppy Orientation is an excellent way to set you and puppy up for success.

Puppy Orientation and support

We can prevent a lot of unwanted behaviour with puppies by building good habits from the start. I’m here to help you navigate puppyhood by understanding what’s normal, how to prevent unwanted behaviour, and getting potty training under control early. Puppies are learning sponges, the earlier we start the better.

Baby Bonus! You are invited to a complimentary Puppy Social! In collaboration with Ridgeview Animal Hospital we offer a free session to new puppy owners the first Saturday of each month. You can learn more and register at: Intro to Puppy Training.

How I Work With Clients
There’s so much to cover! We’ll start with a personalized Puppy Orientation ($198.99 +tax) to answer all the foundational questions about navigating teething, potty training and lots more. After the Orientation you have the option to add follow-up lessons, at a preferred rate when confirmed within 7 days of our first meeting. 

Puppy Orientation & Support
If you’ve never had a puppy before or even if it’s been a while, I recommend starting with a Puppy Orientation to set you and puppy up for success. In your tailored one-on-one lessons we’ll cover foundational knowledge and skills you need to help your puppy settle in as well get them started on their way to becoming a wonderful family dog.

  • Socialization – What puppy needs to grow up confident and sociable

Fuzzy Buddy Training programs include training, skills development, hands-on support, comprehensive follow up notes, resources, and where applicable video resources to support your learning. Text and email support is available for topics covered in your sessions.

Follow-up Support
Fuzzy Buddy training programs include practical advice, behaviour modification and management, skills development, hands-on practice, comprehensive follow up notes and, where applicable, video resources all to support your learning. Text and email support are available between sessions.

Pricing
Puppies are brand new to the planet and have lots to learn. Whether you need just the basics or would benefit form follow-up support as well, there’s an option for you. Payment plan available on request.
– Puppy Orientation only: 1.5 hr  $198.99 +tax
– Puppy Support package add-on: 3x 1 hr  $374.99 +tax 
– Good Manners comprehensive training package: 8x 1 hr  $899.99 +tax

Venue
Puppy Orientation & Support lessons are held in-home to help you get the most from our sessions; travel fees may be applicable outside my usual service area.

My Approach
My goal is peaceful pet-human relationships by teaching both dogs and their humans all the skills they need to handle challenging situations. It’s true of all dog training: There’s no need for corrections. Instead, we’ll teach your dog to enthusiastically offer the behaviours you want. Fuzzy Buddy is a judgement-free zone. I am here to support, guide, and teach. Together we’ll find the solutions that are right for you and your dog all without punishment, intimidation, or fear… for either of you.

Our Service Commitment 

Safety:   
Your pet’s safety and well-being is our first priority. We will take every precaution to ensure a positive and safe experience.

Training Protocol:
We believe your dog is doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. We use positive reinforcement, rather than corrections, to teach the dog what we want instead of just saying “No!” We stand behind the training methods we use, which are based on the scientific principles of how dogs learn. From experience we know that, correctly applied, these methods are highly effective. Please note, the individual success of you and your dog depends on your commitment to your dog’s training. Therefore, we cannot guarantee success. 

Policies

Payment & Refunds:
Invoices are due and payable upon receipt, prior to our first session. Payment can be made by e-transfer or cash. A full refund will be provided if we are notified of cancellation at least 3 business days prior to the first lesson. 

Booking Lessons:
Please allow 1.5 hours for our first session. All follow-up lessons are 1 hour long. I recommend booking follow-up lessons well in advance to ensure you find times that work best for you. *Lessons must be scheduled no more than 7-10 days apart to ensure we maintain training momentum.*

Training Packages:
Each Training Package is designed to provide your dog with the skills they need to meet your training goals. All lessons in your Training Package must be completed prior to the allocated training period after which they expire. If you encounter extenuating circumstances please contact me ASAP prior to expiry.
Standard 8 lesson package, 4 months from the first lesson
Focused 6 lesson package, 3 months from the first lesson
Targeted 4 lesson package, 2 months from first lesson

Behaviour & Safety: 
 We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet for any reason including, without limitation, if it appears that the pet is sick, injured, in pain, or that its behaviour could jeopardize the health and safety of other pets or our staff. Although we carefully screen all applicants, occasionally we discover that this is not an appropriate service for every dog. We reserve the right to permanently remove a dog from our services at any time.
